T-Mobile Hungary Co. Ltd. and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences are conducting an interdisciplinary social science research program on the topic communications in the 21st century.
The participants include communication theorists, philosophers, psychologists, sociologists, economists, linguists, political theorists, and historians of science. While in all areas of life we witness a radical increase in the demand for mobile communications, questions as regards further directions of development are at many points open, and need to be addressed by the social sciences. The mobile telephone is by now more than merely a device to transmit voice. It has become a multi-purpose data transmitter – a mobile companion.
The organizers will cover the costs for a limited number of scholars.
