Testing requests for GeoSite and GeometryEditor, a completely Web-based DGS
At the Institute for Computational Mathematics, and the Department of Computer Science, Kent State University, our WME (Web-based Mathematics Education) group has been developing a completely Web-based Interactive Geometry System.
One of the goals of the project is to allow users to use the system anywhere simply with a browser. Everything you create will be saved on the server. Publishing is instant.
It also has a Web page authoring system. You will find out it's more than Html editing.
The Web site is http://boar.cs.kent.edu/geosite
Please feel free to register an account. The system is free and we will try our best to support the running of the site.
Firefox version 1.5 and above is required to use the system. The system is using some open Web standards: SVG (Scalar Vector Graphics), and MathML (Mathematical Markup Language). Currently, Firefox 1.5+ has the best support among all the existing browsers.
There are still lots of unfinished features, and some known and unknown bugs. But the system should be usable.
More information can be found in the site's own Wiki system http://boar.cs.kent.edu/geosite/mediawiki
In the Wiki system, please also find the user manuals that is still being updated.
Please help us find out bugs, collect new requirements, and exchange ideas.
Any feedback you can offer would be very much appreciated : please mail to Xun Lai
