This Kaleidoscope workshop discussed problems and potentials of instructional approaches to Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL), and to introduce a theoretically grounded framework of collaboration scripts in CSCL.
This Kaleidoscope workshop, organized by Armin Weinberger and Frank Fischer of KMRC (which hosts the workshop), Päivi Häkkinen of Jyvaskyla University (Finland), Pierre Dillenbourg of EPFL (Switzerland), and Andreas Harrer of the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany), discussed problems and potentials of instructional approaches to Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL), and introduced a theoretically grounded framework of collaboration scripts in CSCL. Collaboration scripts are activity programs that specify, sequence, and assign roles and activities to collaborative learners. In CSCL, collaboration scripts are typically implemented in the interfaces of the learning environment to guide the interaction of learners. Kaleidoscope doctoral students received travel grants.
