Lone Dirckinck-Holmfeld, from Aalborg University, takes over the scientific leadership of TELEARC
On behalf
of all TELEARC members, I would like to express our thanks to the former president,
Nicolas Balacheff, for his great work for the TEL community and for his
leadership in Kaleidoscope and TELEARC. His continuing focus has ensured that
TEL research has a strong European base today.
It is a
great honour for me to take over the scientific leadership of TELEARC and thus
contribute to sustaining the legacy of Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope has provided
a very strong platform for TEL research and for collaboration between our
research labs. I very much look forward to pushing for strong TEL research
in Europe and developing new activities together with all of you and with the
new governing board of TELEARC:
Rosa Maria Bottino (ITD Genoa), Daniel Burgos (Universidad Internacional de La Rioja), Frank Fischer (LMU
Munich), Sten Ludvigsen (Intermedia Oslo), Alain Mille (LIRIS Lyon).
TELEARC
pursues the following objectives:
a)
Contribute to shaping the scientific evolution of technology-enhanced learning.
b)
Strengthen the scientific collaboration between research teams and foster
integration of European
research teams in the field of technology-enhanced learning.
c) Promote
the excellence of European research in the area of technology-enhanced learning.
d) Raise the awareness and interest of the scientific community, policy-makers
and the general public in the area.
It is my
hope that together we can continue to build a vibrant and strong association,
which brings together the leading TEL research labs in Europe and globally. Some
of our shared efforts be
to contribute to building a European research infrastructure for technology-enhanced
learning - for example, within the ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on
Research Infrastructure) - and to contribute strongly to Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and
Innovation, in order to serve social development and the grand societal
challenges in Europe and globally.
