The Faculty of Science, Department of Psychology, and the University-independent Knowledge Media Research Center (KMRC) invite applications for the position of a Research Associate Professor (W2) (without tenure) for Applied Psychology of Learning and Knowledge to be filled at the soonest possible date.
The candidate should be strongly qualified regarding research on
individual knowledge acquisition and knowledge application with a special
focus regarding the use of methods and theories from Cognitive Science.
Moreover, s/he should have experience regarding research on using digital
media for fostering learning and knowledge processes.
Task requirements include supervision of research groups as well as
participation in the steering committee and in the further development of
the institute. The KMRC, Institut für Wissensmedien/Knowledge Media
Research Center, is an innovative research institute with a focus on
knowledge acquisition and knowledge exchange with modern information- and
communication technologies. The KMRC is a member of the
Leibniz-Association and is committed to international scientific

The position serves the advancement of young researchers (according to §
50 para. 2 clause 5 State law on universities and colleges,
Baden-Württemberg). The appointment is conducted under civil service
status for the duration of 3 years. A temporary reappointment is
permissible if a total duration of 6 years is not exceeded. In case of a
limited continuation of the civil service status by renewed temporary
appointment there is no need for a repeated appointment procedure.
A prerequisite for the employment is either a habilitation or a strong
record of post-doctoral scientific research that is equivalent to a
habilitation in Germany as well as proven teaching skills. The University
and the KMRC are striving to increase the proportion of women in research
and teaching and therefore strongly encourage qualified female scientists
