Call for participation: TERENCE @ EC-TEL disseminates the findings of the first year of life of the TERENCE project.
The event is organised in two main parts: a presentation; a poster session.
TERENCE is a TEL project financed by the European Commission for 3 years, starting from October 2011. It has partners from diverse and complementary fields (art and design, computer science, engineering, linguistics, evidence-based medicine, psychology). The project sees the constant involvement of its end-users (deaf and hearing poor comprehenders, their educators) from schools in UK and Italy.
TERENCE @ EC-TEL disseminates the findings of the first year of life of the TERENCE project.
The event is organised in two main parts: a presentation; a poster session.
- PRESENTATION (non-technical, 15 minutes): a presentation concerning: the "good, the bad and the fun" of running an interdisciplinary TEL project for children and their educators.
- POSTER (technical, 45 minutes): a poster session, with posters from TERENCE partners concerning their work during the first year of TERENCE.
PUBLICATION
After the event, there will be an extended call for papers concerning TEL themes related to TERENCE, including considerations for children with specific difficulties (e.g. poor/slow readers, bright children living in impoverished communities/families).
Submissions will be peer-reviewed and the accepted papers will be published in a dedicated volume by EQUINOX (http://www.equinoxpub.com/).
