This workshop will adopt a critical, comprehensive and yet pragmatic approach to exploring, understanding and articulating perspectives on contemporary research into contexts for learning in ways that improve our design, deployment and evaluation of TEL. It will do this through bringing together key researchers and projects that are exploring context from various perspectives, including those that emphasise mobile learning, learning design, learning with social networks, learning in virtual worlds, and learner experiences of context. The aim is to enrich our collective understanding of the nature and role of context in ways that allow us to produce rich and relevant learning designs and resulting experiences that clearly improve learning and teaching in ways that can influence the pedagogic practice. The workshop will be highly interactive through an innovative format, with plenty of time allocated to a plenary session, supporting a synthesis and the agreement of outcomes and positions. All submissions will be published online before the workshop in the CEUR-WS.org workshop series. After the workshop there will be an opportunity for revised papers to be submitted and reviewed for a special issue of Journal of Computer Assisted Learning (JCAL).
Submissions
Short papers of between 4-5 pages of original work in the form of a position paper, a well developed account of work in progress, or a research paper.
Deadlines and Schedule

- Camera-ready version submitted by 1 September 2011
