Funding Opportunities for Teachers!
The EDEN
Open Classroom Conference will focus on
large scale educational reforms under way in many
European countries regarding modernization of
school pedagogy and methodological best practice.
Teachers from all over Europe are able to receive
funding for the travel, accommodation, fees from
their national
agencies through the COMENIUS programme.

The Conference will cover a wide variety of
subject areas related to innovative education
technologies and current best practice trends in
education, transformative inclusion and teachers'
professional development. Specific sessions will
be devoted to effective use of digital libraries
and educational repositories, collaborative
development of educational resources (organising,
sharing, tagging), proactive inclusive educational
strategies and teacher training as continuous
professional development and life long learning,
school management as a focus of "change agent"
within the school community. In addition, the
conference will focus on the educational potential
of ICT: integration within school practice, the
role of distance learning in teacher training and
school education (perspectives and next steps),
empowerment of school communities in rural areas,
mainstream inclusion of disadvantaged learners and
implementation and reinforcement of strategic and
consistent student centered approaches.
The potential of Comenius centralized and
decentralized actions will also be included in the
training programme: e-twinning, staff mobility,
school partnerships. Best practices in Comenius
multilateral projects and Networks will be
discussed with a view to enlarging the impact of
such projects and encouraging teachers to take
part in such initiatives. These themes and topics
will inform the conference subject areas and will
be covered in the EDEN conference through talks,
workshops and seminars.
The indicative conference fee is 300 Euros, that
includes meals during the conference days. Further
support in form of discount may apply for primary
& secondary school teachers or alike, from
Greece.
