ICV Master program - Call for student applications
The Master program in International Cognitive Visualization (ICV) is now accepting applications from students eager to study this new field in three countries.
France. Pierre-Mendès-France University of Grenoble, Erica de Vries (erica.devries@upmf-grenoble.fr)
Germany. University of Koblenz-Landau at Landau, Wolfgang Schnotz (schnotz@uni-landau.de)
USA. California State University at Chico, Neil Schwartz (nschwartz@csuchico.edu)

Student applications are due March 30, 2011

Objectives
ICV is a 2-year dual master's degree program. The aim of the program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to design and to deploy, to use and to study visualizations in training, in business, industry, and government. Visualizations refer to the 2-D and 3-D static and animated visual displays that depict conditions, situations, processes, places or events as they appear in maps, diagrams, graphs, pictures, schematics, data-based spatial or linear renditions, and immersive virtual environments.

Study program
The program builds on the expertise of researchers in psychology and in education from three different universities. Students will be part of an internationally recruited cohort and successively trained at three universities in order to become visualization specialists who will have to be operational throughout the world, understanding both European and North American professional contexts. The degree is full-time only. All courses are in English. Upon completion of the program, students earn a dual master's degree:

· a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies-International Cognitive Visualization emphasis from the California State University at Chico
· a Master in the Educational Sciences-Specialty Engineering of Training, International Cognitive Visualization Track from the Pierre-Mendès-France University of Grenoble, France

Student mobility grants from the Atlantis programme for EU-US co-operation
The ICV program receives funding of the Atlantis programme for EU-US co-operation in higher education and training. Selected students will receive a grant for the year they study oversees.
