LSRI: Funding Opportunities 2010
Are you interested in designing learning technologies, game based learning, learning with visual and multi-modal representations, mathematical cognition, or mobile and contextual learning?
The LSRI is a centre of excellence for research in the Learning Sciences and Technology Enhanced Learning. Research at the Institute explores the fundamental processes and practices of learning, and how to design new technologies and environments to enhance human learning.

The below funding opportunities will be available for 2010.

General studentships
The LSRI offers a small number of funded PhD studentships in areas related to the learning sciences and technology-enhanced learning. These are highly competitive and applications must be supported by a research proposal.  Applications for full time or part time study are welcome.
Deadline date: 19th February 2010

Horizon Doctoral Training Centre for the Digital Society
There are opportunities for fully-funded four year PhD studentships within the Horizon Doctoral Training Centre for the Digital Society to explore new applications for learning of ubiquitous and location-aware computing, to create new technologies in these areas, or to study their impact on people's lives.

Qualifications
Candidates should have or expect to gain a good honours degree (usually at least a 2.1) in an undergraduate degree or Masters degree in Psychology, Computer Science, Education or a related subject relevant to the learning sciences.
