Utrecht University is busy preparing for the 2008 International Conference for the Learning Sciences. The theme for the conference is International Perspectives in the Learning Sciences. This conference will attempt to broaden the geographical, cultural, and intellectual scope of the learning sciences community, while maintaining its focus on the innovative consideration of learning as it occurs in authentic contexts.

All submissions will be peer reviewed. You will be notified of acceptance/non acceptance by January 28, 2008. The final, camera ready copy is due by March 3, 2008.

SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
Collaborative learning systems have caused a drastic change in the way people focus work and learning, especially at a distance. An influencing issue concerns the analysis of both the systems performance and group interactions. The latter constitutes an important factor for group monitoring, support and performance. To support and enhance collaboration and learning, P2P and grid middleware and applications have opened new interesting possibilities. One the one hand, P2P allows collaborators to share their own resources; on the other hand, grid facilitates the access to remote learning services and resources not affordable locally as well as the increase of the participants' capacity to carry out specific tasks. Special emphasis is given to systems and applications that focus on participants that provide their own resources for the achievement of their goals.
This workshop aims at providing a forum for academic researchers, professionals and practitioners to exchange their experiences and their ideas about problems and solutions related to the design, development and use of groupware learning systems and applications. Researchers can report their ideas, models, designs and experiences on the proposed topics.

Instructions to Authors
The manuscripts should closely reflect the final paper as it will appear in the Proceedings, which will be maximum 6 pages in IEEE double column format. Please format your paper, as described in the IEEE Computer Society Press Proceedings Author Guidelines where you can find instructions (Word, PDF, Postscript).
SUBMISSIONS
The submission site for CESA-2008 paper will be available on the first week of October-2007.
The format of the initial submissions can be PDF. The file of the final accepted papers should be in either Word or Latex.
