About Coll@ware
Our group will open up new avenues for collaborative learning and
working through the use of context-aware mobile technologies.
Coll@ware will implement and deploy mobile and ambient learning
technologies that are responsive to both people and context, thereby
helping to bridge the gap between formal training and informal,
on-the-job learning. Our focus will be on how context-aware
ambient and mobile technologies can be used to support collaborative
learning, offering new opportunities for social interaction through the
design, development, and deployment of these technologies.
Issues this activity addresses
In the European knowledge economy, people are increasingly required to
share their expertise and ideas, and to build new kinds of knowledge
together. As a result, there is an increasing need for
responsive, TEL environments that motivate, engage, and inspire
learners.
Contributions to the field
We will formulate a research agenda in which we develop scenarios for
designing theories, technologies, and practical models for use in
higher educational and professional organisations. A
special emphasis will be made to integrate findings from various
special interest groups in the Network, including Computer Supported
Collaborative Learning, Mobile Learning, and Philosophy of Technology
Enhanced Learning.
