Marcello Milrad described MUlticast Services and Information in Sweden, an innovative wireless network and collaboration between two Swedish universities, several companies and an Israeli research and development corporation. It is a model for content distribution to mobile phones, with different 'channels' of information and entertainment, including music, television news, and course content. Students could also create multimedia content to distribute over the network.
It is a testbed leading to commercial products. As a trial, 100 smartphones have been distributed to students. This project was also presented as a Showcase at the Symposium.
