		<description><![CDATA[<strong>From 17 December 2007 till 18 December 2007</strong><br /><p align="justify">
<b>WHO SHOULD ATTEND?</b> <br />
This event addresses <b>researchers interested in submitting project proposals 
to the third ICT call under FP7, objective ICT -2007</b>.4.3: Digital libraries 
and technology-enhanced learning. 
</p>
<p align="justify">
The information days aim at helping participants to better 
understand the work programme and criteria for the evaluation of proposals, 
to facilitate sharing of ideas and experiences, and to find partners for project 
consortia.
</p>
<p align="justify">
<b>PROGRAMME</b><br />
The information days will offer two half-day <b>plenary sessions</b> aiming at providing participants with information relevant for preparing proposals to the third ICT call. Main issues are the research challenges in the work programme and criteria for the evaluation of proposals: 
</p>
<ul>
	<li>Monday, 17 December, a.m.: <b>digital libraries</b></li>
	<li>Tuesday, 18 December, a.m. : <b>technology-enhanced learning</b></li>
</ul>
The remaining time will allow for participants to <b>present posters</b> in order to find project partners, or to discuss their proposal ideas in <b>bilateral meetings</b> with Commission staff.

The eLene consortium will organise a conference on the economics of e-learning in December 2007 in Paris. Leading practitioners and researchers from Europe will present the results of studies and research on e-learning initiatives.

The 2nd international conference on Semantics And digital Media Technologies (SAMT) will be held in Genova from the 5th to the 7th December 2007, at the Jolly Hotel Marina.

		<description><![CDATA[<strong>From 04 December 2007 till 06 December 2007</strong><br />The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation is hosting 
a three-day event in December devoted to Open Source. It is a must-attend event 
for ICT giants and start-ups alike. The first day of the conference is reserved 
for ministers and senior representatives from the public sector, the second 
day will include speakers from the private and public sector to analyse how 
open source is bridging the digital divide and the last day of the conference 
will be devoted to open source in mobile.

The European Education Policy Network is a forum for policymakers and policy

SPUTNIC is a one-year European Commission&#39;s Socrates-Accompanying 
Measures project which <b>stands for &quot;Seminars Promoting the Use of Technologies 
for Networking and International Collaboration&quot;. </b>The project aims at raising 
awareness about the beneficial impact of the (pedagogically sound) implementation 
of new educational technologies that enhance international networking and collaboration 
for an institution, its staff and its students.

A SPUTNIC Forum will be <b>organised in conjunction with 
Online Educa Berlin</b>. The theme of this forum is &#39;Promoting Collaboration 
Through New Educational Technologies&#39;. It will cover <b>four topics: Virtual 
Mobility, Social Software applications, Streaming Video and Video conferencing. </b>

		<description><![CDATA[<strong>From 26 November 2007 till 28 November 2007</strong><br />This is a three-day event organized by British Council and the IATEFL Learning 
Technologies SIG.
<p align="justify">
 This conference is an innovative attempt to bring together 
ideas, proposals, reports, research and materials from teachers, developers 
and practitioners, from Italy and overseas, who have been working with some 
of these new technologies, and investigating how they can promote learning in 
the context of ELT education.
</p>
<p align="justify">
The conference is aimed at local Italian teachers of English, 
British Council teachers of English, ICT Coordinators both from the British 
Council as well as the local context, members of the LTSIG and IATEFL in general, 
as well as other interested participants.
