I've called this workspace a 'forum' because it is intended to be an exchange of ideas about how best to make progress in e-learning research.

That is the great value I see from this network.

This is not a field in which researchers have typically built upon the work of others.

As the technology races forward with ever more enticing opportunities, the focus is often on invention, rather than on building knowledge grounded in practice.

I'd like to see Kaleidoscope shifting that focus.

If we collaborate through using and building on each others' work, perhaps we can bring the field of e-learning research to a greater level of maturity than it currently has.

At least, that is the focus of this forum...
