Experimenting a scenario and actions for experimenter

This service is accessible for users who want to lead experiments of a chosen LDL scenario on the LearningLab Platform

Modus operandi step by step:

  1. Access the web platform: http://tesbedb0.imag.fr
  2. Log in the system: At this step users can access the "workspace" area , the "users" area, the "ldi" aread and three tab "launch AppElec", "launch LearnElec" and "Backup trails"
  3. Adding a group of users to the platform 
    • click on the "user" tab and click on the "groups" tab
    • click on the "add new group" button
    • complete the "title" field
    • click on the "select file" button to import users. This operation creates new users.  The file format is csv: one user by line as below: firstname; lastname; login; password;
    • click on the "save" button to finish the operation.
  4. Create an experiment on LearningLab 
    • click on the "ldi" tab
    • on the "scenario" tab: select a scenario to be experiment and define the name of the experiment
    • click on the "create" button
    • on the "experiments" tab:  select your experiment, select groups or single user and assign them to the roles defined by the scenario
  5. Start experiments (Experimenter has the capability to manually start one or more experiments)
    • click on the "experiment" tab of the ldi interface (you can see the list of the experiments already defined)
    • select desired experiments
    • click on the "start" button
  6. Suspend and resume experiments (during the experiment, experimenter has capabilities to suspend and resume experiments)
    • click on the "experiment" tab
    • select desired experiments
    • click on the "pause experimentation" button to suspend experiments
    • click on the "resume" button to resume experiments
  7. Stop experiments (this action entirely stops experiments)
    • click on the "experiment" tab
    • select desired experiment
    • click on the "stop" button
  8. Dynamic management of users (During an experiment, the experimenter can dynamically act on users. He can assign new users or groups to possible roles or remove role of an user)
    • click on the "experiment" tab
    • click on the desired experiment
    • in the first pane, select a user to remove  
    • in the second pane, select user or group to add and role to assign
  9. Backup trails produced during the experiment (When the experiment is finished, the experimenter can backup trails produced, if he wants to keep them)
    • Select the experiment and click on "backup trails" button.

Trails are stored on the XML data base at this path: /db/activitiesBackup/experiment-title/
