In the previous JEIRP TRAILS, our Metah-LIG team has already collaborated with the London Knowledge Lab and the Universiteit Van Amsterdam. We have categorised the trails coming from several kind of TEL experiments among others. We have distinguished planned trails and effected trails.
In the task 7.8.of SVL “Infrastructures for Distributed Experiments and Evaluation” we have developed a demonstrator, aiming at showing the possibility for easily setting up an experiment in a pedagogical context based on planned trails, for collecting effected trails. The Pentila corporate has designed and implemented a tool for instrumenting an experiment: that is a platform with services and a player for educational modelling language (LDL). This platform with these tools offers the facilities to set up an experiment, register all the participants, play the scenario (planned trails) and collect effected trails.
Last year, our Grenoble Metah team has set up an experiment on the learning of electricity, that consists in a scenario embedding a questionnaire with exercises on a simulator. We obtained trails of several experimentations of this scenario in classes of secondary schools.
